Rated 3 out of 5 by from Late notifications For the first year of usage 2017-2018, the notifications received when the generator was turned on due to power failure or monthly maintenance runs were routinely 4-10 hours late. Today they are regularly 1 hour late. So while it is helpful to know the status of my generator an hour ago, I would rather know the status RIGHT NOW. Because of the late notifications it is not possible to use them as trigger events for home automation which was the reason I bought this in the first place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Item is off line more often than on line When I purchased my Generator I upgraded to the mobile link within six months and it seemed to work fine for the first year. After the first year it seemed to be off line more than on line. When it comes on line again, usually in the middle of the night, it sends multiple messages trying to catch up. I contacted mobile link before this years renewal and they checked signal availability which they said was fine. They provided a reduced fee for renewal and said an upgrade to the mobile link in the fall. The mobile link went off line again as soon as I hung up the phone. I have been told the new WiFi mobile links are more dependable but I would have serious reservations on purchasing those relying in cellular towers. The new WiFi mobile links are supposedly not compatible with previously purchased generators and considering the the help I’ve received thus far, I am quite disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware If you sign up and pay for Mobile Link by following the instructions provided, you won't be able to have your dealer monitor the generator. To do that, the sign up needs to be done through the dealer (which is not mentioned anywhere in the materials). If, after learning that the sign up instructions provided by Generac are wrong (even within 24 hours), thier solution is to cancel the contract you've paid for, keep the contract fee, and charge you another fee to sign up again through the dealer - your fault for not reading the instructions that weren't included, apparently. Aggressively lousy customer service. Don't waste your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst ever I had a Mobile Link installed when I got my generator. It only worked sporadically. I got it so I would receive emails regarding my generator exercising every week and if there were any faults. Every time I called they blamed something on my end. It was never their fault. I have cancelled my subscription and will go with another company. It is a waste of your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ethernet or bust. Remote monitoring and management should be handled by a web interface on a network card with an Ethernet port like any good UPS. No one that's very tech savvy wants your insecure cellular/wifi mess. We want to plug a cable between the generator and our network switch and manage everything else ourselves. Take a look at an APC network management card, make something with similar functionality but for your generators.
